It has been advised by the medical experts to avoid visits to open areas and mandatory use of facemasks and eyewear.

The public needs to understand that smog is a form of air pollution that exhausts into the air, stated the Punjab Minister for Environmental Protection Department Muhammad Rizwan.

However, significant level of crop burning in India also exaggerates the smog condition in Punjab, particularly in Lahore.

He further stated that a project in association with SPARCO has been introduced in Lahore to improve diverse types of environmental simulations to address the main causes of pollution.

He appealed to the media representatives to help the government in the awareness among the people to avert environmental pollution in the city.
