KHUZDAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the police on Tuesday gunned down two suspected terrorists during an operation in the Sarona area of Khuzdar district.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the terrorists were members of the banned organisation Baloch Liberation Front.

“Two 9MM pistols, two hand grenades, one motorcycle, four magazines and 34 live rounds have been recovered from their possession,” said the official and added that three of the terrorists managed to flee from their den.

The police lodged a case at CTD Khuzdar police station and started an investigation against the group of terrorists.

On November 5, officials of the CTD of the Sindh Police had claimed to have arrested a wanted shooter belonging to the Lyari gang war.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of Mairaj alias Chotu, the CTD had arrested him during a search operation in the city.

According to the police officials, the suspect had admitted to his crimes, including extortion.

Mairaj had killed constable Farooq Imran in 2019, said the CTD officials and added that the suspect was also a relative of Karachi’s notorious criminal Abdul Rehman Baloch, better known as Rehman Dakait, and the nephew of shooters, Sajid and Wajid.
