LAHORE: Punjab chief secretary Kamran Ali Afzal has directed all the deputy commissioners to continue monitoring the prices and availability of fertilisers in their respective districts.
Chairing a video-link meeting of all deputy commissioners at the Civil Secretariat, he expressed satisfaction over the measures that helped decrease the fertiliser price.
The chief secretary said no one would be allowed to exploit the farmers. He directed the officers to take stern action against those involved in hoarding and profiteering of fertilisers.
Afzal also directed selling the stocks confiscated from hoarders at fixed price in the market.
Action has also been taken against the government officials involved in corruption, he said and directed the deputy commissioners of bordering districts to keep a check on smuggling of wheat and flour in their areas.
