LAHORE: Minister for Industries and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal on Wednesday directed expediting the process of colonisation of industrial estates.

Chairing a meeting, he said, the economy could grow only by accelerating the pace of industrial development.

The minister said he would personally visit industrial estates to check on the ground situation of development works and colonisation.

He directed the Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) to write a letter for getting the required funding.

He also directed the completion of Quaid-e-Azam Business Park by December 31, 2022 in all respects. The Chunian Aqua Business Park would be inaugurated in the first week of January and Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh Industrial Zone in February and March, respectively, he said.

The minister directed the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) to impose fines on those who failed to start construction within the stipulated time.
