Ringleader of inter-provincial gang arrested from Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi police on Tuesday arrested the ringleader of an inter-provincial gang that used to steel cars from Karachi and sell them in different areas of Punjab.

The police arrested suspect Rustam Ali while conducting a raid at the Muhammad Khan Road, Scheme 33, near the cattle market area. He was injured in exchange of fire when he tried to flee. Ali’s accomplices Nadeem and Shehzad took advantage of the darkness and escaped from the scene.

The police recovered a pistol and a car, affixed with fake number plate LRJ-674 in place of its original number ADT-314 from the suspect. The car was stolen from Nazimabad area on December 5.

A case against the suspect has been registered at the Sachal Police Station.
