BOL Media Group Chairperson Ayesha Shaikh expressed deep regret on the demise of Bilquis Edhi, the wife of renowned humanitarian and philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, as she passed away at the age of 74 on Friday after a brief hospitalization.

Taking to her Twitter account, Ms Ayesha Shaikh wrote, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Bilquis Edhi, who dedicated her life for the welfare of humanity by running the largest philanthropic organization of the world. She will always be remembered through her legacy and philanthropy. May her soul rest in eternal peace!”

Called the mother of orphans, Bilquis Edhi was admitted to a hospital in Karachi three days ago after a sudden drop in her blood pressure.

According to Edhi Foundation, she was ill for the last one month.
