In an interview with local television, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov discussed the influence of more modern and longer-range weapons supplied by the United States, France, and others on the battle.

“Today our artillerymen are already learning …. already studying in the respective places where they are taught to use this equipment,” he said. “The same applies to our tank men and other specialists.”

The capacity to use longer-range weaponry was described as a “paradigm change” by Reznikov.

When asked why Ukraine’s allies are only now providing heavier weapons, he said, “I will be honest with you — our partners did not believe that Ukraine could win.”
