A 16-year-old Indo-Canadian student was killed earlier this month in Edmonton, Alberta, and seven juveniles have been charged with the crime.

On the 8th of April, a murder took place in Edmonton, Alberta. As all of the suspects are minors, they have not been identified.

In response to an appeal from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), a judge lifted a publication ban on the name of the victim, Karanveer Sahota.

Police were called to a reported assault outside the city’s McNally High School at 2:44 p.m. on April 8. Arriving at the scene, they found the teenager with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital by paramedics. However, he died a week later, on April 15, from his injuries, and the case was turned over to the local police homicide unit for further investigation.

Medical examiners in Edmonton completed an autopsy on Wednesday, concluding that the man’s death was caused by a stab wound to the chest. A statement from Edmonton police stated that the “manner of death was homicide.”

“It is believed that this incident was an escalation of violence between two rival groups,” it said of the victim and suspects.

According to the Edmonton Journal, Superintendent Shane Perka of the Edmonton Police Department called Sahota’s death “senseless.”.

This kind of tragedy is almost unheard of in our city,” says the narrator. An understatement, to say the least,” he continued.

For the benefit of his family, his cousins have set up an online fundraiser.

There is no longer a job for Monica Binns, the person leading the fundraiser for the 13-year-old girl’s father, who is on long-term disability because of his grief. Over CA$ 230,000 has been raised so far (roughly US$180,942).

While standing alone, a group of teens brutally murdered Karan. It described the tragedy as a “unimaginable loss.”
