The leaders of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) including Dr Sagheer Ahmed, Anees Qaimkhani Advocate, Waseem Aftab, Taha Ahmed and others, who were dissidents of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan(MQM-P), have decided to leave the PSP and rejoin the MQM (P).

According to the Bol TV channel, these leaders will come to MQM-P Headquarters (Bahadurabad) and formally announce to join their mother party.

Dr Sagheer Ahmed has also confirmed his joining the MQM-P. it is being seen an important development for Karachi politics. It is good news for the MQM-P and a bid dent to the PSP.

Earlier, the MQM-P opted to abandon the ruling PTI and join the joint Opposition in opposing Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence vote, BOL News reported on Wednesday.

With the MQM-P’s unexpected attack on Imran Khan before the no-confidence motion, the government is now supported by only 164 members of Parliament. Meanwhile, the unified Opposition has grown to 177 members.

In a major development, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), a key ally of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Centre, resigned from Prime Minister Imran Khan’s federal cabinet on Wednesday after reaching an agreement with the joint opposition on the no-confidence motion.

Syed Aminul Haque, the federal cabinet’s minister of information and telecommunications, confirmed the report.

Barrister Forough Naseem held the portfolio of Law and Justice while Syed Aminul Haq was the Federal Minister for IT.
