During a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, a deputy sheriff was among those who lost a kid.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott stated, “One deputy sheriff lost a daughter in that school.”

After 18-year-old Salvador Ramos opened fire on a Texas elementary school, killing 19 pupils and three adults, Abbott made his remarks. Ramos murdered his grandmother before going to the school to carry out the attack, which concluded with him being shot and killed by responding police officers.

Over a dozen people were hurt in the incident, with Abbott stating that three law enforcement personnel were also injured and are in excellent health.

While the massacre has reignited calls for stronger gun legislation, Abbott blamed the tragedy on a “mental health condition.”

“We had a long talk with law enforcement at all levels before coming out here. We held a meeting with community leaders and elected officials, and I asked the sheriff an open-ended question, and both the sheriff and the mayor of Uvalde gave the same answer “Abbott explained.

He said, “The question was, ‘What is the problem here?'” “And they were direct and forceful in their delivery. “We have a problem with mental illness in our neighborhood,” they stated.”

Ramos had posted on social media before the deadly shooting that he had killed his grandmother and was ready to travel to an elementary school, according to Abbott. The governor also stated that the event is still under investigation, which will be led by Texas Rangers.
