A contestant on the renowned ITV game show Tipping Point passed away before her episode aired. It was stated that a retired school bus driver from Bolton had passed away.

On Wednesday, May 4, just before the show aired, it was announced that one of the participants, Cath, had died. The Bolton woman competed against Afqad and Mark for a chance to win a £10,000 jackpot. According to Wales Online, Cath was the first to be knocked out, leaving Afqad and Mark to fight for the reward.

Cath, who cried “I don’t want to go home” immediately before she was knocked out, has died since the show was filmed, according to reports. Before the show aired, the Tipping Point team tweeted: “After the recording of today’s programme, we spoke with Cath’s family who shared the sad news of Cath’s passing. Everyone at Tipping Point would like to extend their sincerest sympathies.”

Cath was never able to watch herself on the show, but accolades to the retired bus driver continued to flood in as the news spread. The famous daytime quiz show has been on ITV for almost a decade and is now in its 12th series.
