Johnny Depp ate sweets in court to help him curb nicotine intake?
Amber Heard’s defence team made quite a stir when the Pirates of the Caribbean star was photographed nibbling on sweets inside the courtroom during the shocking trial.
A court witness stated that Depp was spotted chewing gummy bears before to the start of day one of the trial, which the actor may have done to control his nicotine need given his smocking habit.
Elaine Bredehoft, Heard’s attorney, also inquired about Depp and his lawyer Ben Chew’s practise of limiting sweets.
“We’ve seen Mr Depp doodling and eating sweets during this trial; what if there’s any evidence that suggests he has narcissistic traits?” she questioned the psychiatrist, Dr David Spiegel.
Despite a continuous protest for a lack of foundation, Depp was spotted grinning and concealing his lips.
Virginia lawyer Lee Berlik told the Daily Mail that the behaviour is too lighthearted and might come off as dismissive given the large sums of money at stake in the case.
“You want the jury to sympathise with your client, and they must be liked in order to do so.” Though you appear as if this is all for fun and games, you may turn off a lot of people,” Berlik stated.
