Jordan’s Armed Forces murdered four infiltrators attempting to carry cocaine into Jordan on Sunday.
According to the army, the smugglers were backed by armed gangs, and substantial amounts of cocaine and a firearm were recovered.

The army claims it has stopped a number of infiltration and smuggling efforts since the beginning of 2022, helping to curb the introduction of drugs and illegal substances into the nation.

War-torn Syria has emerged as the region’s primary producer of a multibillion-dollar trade intended for Iraq and Europe. Syrian President Bashar Assad’s administration denies any participation in drug production or trafficking.

Jordanian soldiers murdered at least 27 armed smugglers and injured others as they crossed the border in January.
