Man arrested for trafficking meth

According to Vietnam News Agency, border guard authorities in Vietnam’s Ha Tinh province apprehended a guy for trafficking 5 kg of crystal methamphetamine.

On Tuesday, a 50-year-old man from the central Nghe An province was apprehended red-handed transporting the narcotic from Laos to Vietnam, according to the news agency.

He claimed to being paid by a Laotian to transfer the narcotics to the province of Nghe An.
The case is being investigated further by the authorities.

Those convicted of smuggling more than 600 grammes of heroin or more than 2.5 kg of methamphetamine face the death penalty in Vietnam.
