Amtrak train in Missouri headed for Chicago derails after striking a dump truck

At least three people killed and numerous more however hurt when an Amtrak train headed from Los Angeles to Chicago derailed in Missouri.
According to an Amtrak spokeswoman, 243 passengers and 12 crew members suffered on board.
Authorities reported that three people died. At least 50 people sustained injuries.
Three patients from the derailment however admitted to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
Several local first responders used ambulances and helicopters to transport numerous people to hospitals.
Before the train slid onto its side, Amanda Diehl Drinkard, a passenger, reported hearing a collision.
She told that “We heard a massive smash and then a big cloud of dirt with a terrible burning oil smell.”
The automobile slid off the rail to the right side in slow motion. People were falling on top of us from the other side of the aisle.
We were able to push everyone out the top through a broken window while everyone maintained a reasonable level of composure.
At the bottom, there were friendly individuals ready to assist with getting out of the automobile.

High school students from Pleasant Ridge High School in Easton also traveled on the train, according to principal Tim Beying.
A 14-person “go-team” formed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to look into the train derailment.
On Tuesday, the team however anticipated showing up at the location.
The incident on Monday happened the day after three people however murdered when an Amtrak commuter train collided with an automobile in California on Sunday.
