  • Fire ripped through a container warehouse in southeastern Bangladesh, killing at least 37 people and injuring more than 300, according to the country’s state-run news agency.
  • According to the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) agency, the fire erupted on Saturday night at the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda, Chittagong District.
  • Police and firefighters are working to put out the fires and save individuals.

According to Reuters, Chittagong civil surgeon Mohammed Elias Hossain indicated that the death toll could grow because some of the injured are in severe condition. Among those injured, he said, were firefighters and police officers.
