LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday reaffirmed that his party would form the next government and vowed to turn the country by “110 degrees”

In a meeting with party leaders and workers at Bilawal House in Lahore, the former president vowed to completely change Pakistan if given a chance to rule the country again.

“By the grace of Almighty Allah, PPP will form the next government. We will change the government by 110 degrees,” he said.

The ex-president said he will engage party leaders in Punjab and work with them for the next polls. “I will now sit in Punjab and work with everyone,” he added.

He denounced claims that PPP has no representation in Gilgit-Baltistan and Punjab, calling them “white lies”. “PPP weakened its political presence in a bid to save the country,” Zardari said.

Lashing out at former prime minister Imran Khan, the ex-president the country is in the midst of crushing inflation due to the wrong policies “favourite” person policies since the past three years.

The PPP is currently ruling the Sindh province, where it has been forming the government since the last three general elections. It is also a major stakeholder in the incumbent federal government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The former president is a Lahore to oversee the bypolls being held on July 17 on 20 Punjab Assembly seats which fell vacant after PTI lawmakers were deseated.

Earlier Zardari had assured his party workers of spending maximum time in Punjab to revive the party.

Addressing a gathering of party workers at Bilawal House, he announced to stay in Punjab to revive the party.

He said the party leaders and workers have long history of struggle in Punjab and all efforts would be made to meet public expectations from the government.
