Among the iconic characters Maya Rudolph has portrayed, she has played Donatella Versace and Vice President Kamala Harris. In “Killing Eve,” Sandra Oh made Eve Polastri, which Rudolph once played.

In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter released this week, Rudolph discusses roles she’ve turned down in anticipation of her new Apple TV+ series “Loot.” This includes the title role in Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s BBC dark comedy. Her immediate reaction was to accept the role if Rudolph had been offered the position. In any case, I had no intention of moving to Europe for a longer period of time. How?” Rudolph said in the interview.

For her role in Eve, Oh would ultimately win a Golden Globe in 2019. At the Primetime Emmy Awards, Oh was nominated three times but never won.

Despite turning down the role, Rudolph doesn’t regret it. In addition to winning an Emmy for her voice in Netflix’s animated series “Big Mouth,” she appeared in her partner’s Oscar-nominated film “Licorice Pizza” last year.

In her new series, “Loot,” Rudolph plays Molly Novak (Rudolph), who finds out her picture-perfect husband (Adam Scott) is cheating on her. As a result of their divorce, Molly’s life is in shambles – and no amount of luxury yachts, private jets to St. Barts, or crying in a massive candy room will satisfy her extremely rich but very lonely life. So Molly turns to her non-profit empire to put all that divorce settlement money to good use and get involved in charity work.

In the future, Rudolph will star in the long-awaited “Enchanted” sequel “Disenchanted,” which is set 10 years after storybook princess Giselle (Amy Adams) discovers true love with real-life bachelor Robert (Patrick Dempsey). The musical film also stars James Marsden, Idina Menzel, and Yvette Nicole Brown. She’ll also appear in the cartoon series “Baymax!” as Aunt Cass from the Disney animated film “Big Hero 6.”
