Utah authorities ask public assistance in finding the teen farmer

Deputies are appealing for the public’s assistance in the hunt for Dylan Rounds, a missing young Utah farmer who went missing from his Lucin ranch late last month and was last seen in public three weeks ago.

According to his mother, Candice Cooley, when friends and family became concerned about his whereabouts, a search team discovered his boots in the dirt approximately 100 yards from his truck.

“Dylan had a farm, Dylan had a purpose, and he had a passion in life such that he would not allow anybody, anything, to take him away,” she explained.

She had hoped for assistance from flying drones, but the day turned out to be too windy. She claimed that EquuSearch and K-9 teams from her son’s home state of Idaho had joined the operation.

Volunteer search teams have logged more than 300 hours and covered more than 3,000 miles.

Outside authorities from nearby jurisdictions, notably the Elko County Sheriff’s Office in Nevada and the FBI, are also participating.

However, Elko police learned that the missing adolescent visited the region on May 26, when he observed at a café.
