The extension of the student loan repayment moratorium cost President Biden more than $100 billion. The administration is now considering canceling at least $10,000 of each borrower’s outstanding student loan balance.

It’s difficult to imagine a more irresponsible approach at a time when inflation is at an all-time high.

Fortunately, during today’s full committee markup of the Labor, Health and Human Services Representative Ashley Hinson offered an amendment to stop this.

The Administration however not allowed to forgive student loan debt under this proposal. This amendment should have the backing of every congressman, said Norquist.

By making these Americans pay for the debt that others willingly agreed to take on.

All that this administration wants to do is place the burden of that debt on the shoulders of hardworking Americans and Iowans.

Why should we force electricians, plumbers, truck drivers, and bartenders to pay for someone else’s master’s degree?

House Democrats are opposing the Biden administration’s proposed debt forgiveness plan for a number of reasons. Including the possibility that Biden’s political appointees working on the plan may have a conflict of interest.
