Miles Bridges, a forward for the Charlotte Hornets however detained on Tuesday in Los Angeles. Following a dispute with a companioning woman that required medical attention.

Following a call, police showed up at the woman’s house to provide aid. Bridges had left the area by the time they arrived. On Wednesday, Bridges surrendered himself and was granted a $130,000 bail.

Bridges put up breakout numbers (20.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists) in 2021 and just before contract extension talks in the 2022 summer.

He solidified himself as a crucial component of the youthful team’s fast-paced offense after four seasons with the Hornets.

The arrest of the forward during contract negotiations may cause Bridges’ offseason plans to change. Bridges received a qualifying offer from Charlotte on Wednesday. The forward plans to challenge his status as a restricted free agent beginning on Thursday.

Bridges requested a maximum deal from Charlotte, but the franchise declined to pay that sum for the Michigan State four-year player.

Bridges declined a four-year, $60 million extension from Charlotte during the offseason. According to Bleacher Report.

When it comes to domestic violence issues, the NBA tends to defer to the courts and refrain from imposing sanctions that would contradict the ruling made by the relevant court.

Back in April, Bridges made headlines when he threw his mouthpiece at a heckling fan in Atlanta but accidentally hit a 16-year-old girl. The Association imposed a $50,000 fine on him.

The 2018 NBA Draft’s 12th overall pick was Bridges.
