When Muqaddar, starring Madiha Imam and Faysal Quraishi, first premiered, it made headlines but not for the right reasons. The play received a lot of criticism for its regressive premise, in which a girl falls in love with a man who is three times her age, kidnaps her, and then forces her into marriage.

When Madiha and Faysal received a lot of criticism, the cast defended the show by saying that the bad guy who kidnaps the girl also has a poor ending. But because people now express their dissatisfaction in real time, choosing a script like that these days is not an easy task for any performer. Madiha recently conducted an interview and discussed her drama Muqaddar.

Was Madiha willing to sign such a drama right now? She stated that she does not like to respond with “No,” as she did with “Muqaddar,” but rather would like to sit down with the producer and director and inquire as to why they wish to reproduce an existing drama. She would make an effort to convince them that they didn’t need to tell the tale once more.
