Steve Burton mourns the death of Sonya Eddy
Steve Burton’s friend and co-star Sonya Eddy, passed away. Steve Burton is devastated. The actress from General Hospital, 52, paid tribute to the late actress on Tuesday. She passed away on Monday at the age of 55.
“Without adequate words. Devastated. One of the best, @sonyaeddy “Along with a photo of the two on set, Burton posted a message on Instagram.
“We worked together for a long time 🙂 and we had so much fun,” he added. “I cherished our on-screen relationship but our off-screen relationship much more. Kindred spirits. There was not a time we did not laugh.”
He continued, “Sonya always made me laugh and she would never let me pass without a big hug.Sonya, (I hate using was) is an incredible LIGHT. She touched so many with her talent and just who she is. She will be missed. Prayers and love to her family. 🙏🏻 Fly to the Angels, Sonya. I know the Good Lord, has you. Love you. ❤️”
Beginning in 2006, Eddy portrayed nurse Epiphany Johnson on the storied soap drama. On October 20, she aired her final show, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of watching her.
Jen Lilley, a different cast member, expressed on Instagram how “passing hit me like a ton of bricks”
“I can’t stop crying,” Lilley added. “I loved that woman. In our #GH scenes, she always stared at my forehead and I stared at her lips because if we made eye contact, we’d lose it in uproarious laughter.”
Eddy had appearances in a number of television shows and motion pictures, in addition to General Hospital, such as Inspector Gadget, Barbershop, Daddy Daycare, Matchstick Men, Bad News Bears, Seven Pounds, The Perfect Game, and Pee-Big Wee’s Holiday. The movies Frank and Penelope, V/H/S/99, and Satanic Hispanics were among her 2022 endeavors.
Octavia Spencer, a fellow actor, and Eddy’s close friend broke the terrible news of her passing on Tuesday.
Along with a photo of the late actor, Spencer tweeted, “My friend @sonyaeddy died away last night.” “Another creative angel left the planet. Her hordes of followers at @generalhospitalabc will miss her.”
