Maula Jatt is a phenomenon, not just a film. After several years, the film was released in 2022 and became the first Pakistani picture to reach 200 crores, breaking several records for South Asian films worldwide and showing no signs of slowing down. Fawad Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi’s magnum effort brought Bilal Lashari’s brilliance back to large screens.

The film still dominates Pakistani theatres and was a hit in Europe and the UK. India demanded the film’s release, but Pakistani films are banned there while Indian films are forbidden in Pakistan. The Legend of Maula Jatt will be released in Indian Punjab and Delhi defying bans.

Despite bans, India will release Maula Jatt.

Hindu radicals prohibited Fawad Khan from working in India a few years ago. A court injunction has temporarily halted the film’s release in Delhi. Fans react to The Legend of Maula Jatt‘s India release.
