Hollywood formally began the run-up to the Academy Awards on March 12 with the release of the sci-fi blockbuster Everything Everywhere All At Once, which received the most nominations with 11.

Irish black humour With nine nominations each, The Banshees of Inisherin and the World War I movie All Quiet on the Western Front shared second place. Elvis, the rock biopic, received eight nominations, and Steven Spielberg’s quasi-memoir The Fabelmans, received seven.
