The Legend of Maula Jatt, the most well-known and highest-grossing movie in Lollywood, has broken yet another record, this time establishing a standard for box office success for films to be released in theatres.
The star-studded movie continues to soar to new heights, earning Rs. 1 billion domestically and $10 million internationally at the box office.

On Sunday, the film’s official Instagram account posted a poster with the caption, “On the final day of 2022, the film surpassed the astounding milestone of Rs 100 crore [Rs 1 billion] in Pakistan.”

With the caption, “Perfect timing as The Legend of Maula Jatt crosses 100 crore tonight at the box office in Pakistan and $10 million USD worldwide,” director Bilal Lashari posted a never-before-seen image from the set of his movie. Once more, a heartfelt thank you to the members of Team MJ and to all of the people who have supported The Legend of Maula Jatt around the world.

In The Legend of Maula Jatt, Punjab’s own superhero is reimagined for a global audience as a reworking of the 1979 cult movie Maula Jatt. Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan, Humaima Malick, Gohar Rasheed, Faris Shafi, Ali Azmat, Raheela Agha, Babar Ali, Saima Baloch, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyar Ejaz, and Resham are among the actors who appear in the movie.
