An argument on the microblogging platform was started by a message contrasting the response of Turkish celebrities to the earthquake with that of Pakistani stars who had travelled to Canada to attend the Hum Awards during the floods in their home country. Farhan Saeed eventually responded to the topic!

Saeed’s reaction drew a lot of criticism on Twitter from individuals who noted that the “Suno Chanda” actor had done nothing to raise awareness about floods and was replying to detractors in a condescending manner.

People also condemned his insensitive remark and his failure to identify the actors’ faux insensitivity when they declined to use their platforms to raise money for Pakistan’s floods.

Saeed is frequently referred to as being tone-deaf by commenters.
