Ishaq Dar, the finance minister of Pakistan, inflames trolls whenever he tweets hyperbolically about the nation’s economic downturn under the opposition’s rule, but unfortunately, the 72-year-old politician’s own administration is a laughing joke as well. Dar’s management has been entirely ineffective, causing the dollar price increase as well as price increases for gasoline and other goods. This puts Pakistan’s finances in danger and frequently forces Pakistan to take out loans with high rates of interest.

As it turns out, the greatest inflation Pakistan has ever experienced has compelled Dar to borrow $700 million from China.

Dar’s recent tweet upset the already disturbed public, even though it is extremely common for states to receive and give funds and Pakistan’s history is full of such transactions. The politician outraged millions of people, including Pakistani artist Quratulain Balouch, with statements like I have complete faith that the country will progress because it was formed in the name of Islam” and “I thank the Lord for yet another loan.

The well-known singer of Wo Humsafar Tha was confused as to why Dar would express thanks for obtaining $700 million in funding. Balouch replied to Dar’s initial tweet and scolded him.

“Alhamdulliah?!?! What on earth are you thanking God for? Being a beggar state?!” Balouch asked.

Dar tweeted, “AlhamdoLilah! Asian Development Bank’s Board has approved today BRACE facility of US Dollars 1.5 Billion for Pakistan.”

The Thagyan singer is not the only artist to speak out against Dar. Ahmed Ali Butt also criticised Dar in an old Instagram story, writing, “Karza laynay per nahi DAR saab… Karza utaarnay per Allah ka shuker kertay hain [You don’t thank Allah when you take a loan, Dar Saab, you thank Him when you pay off debts]”

Thagyan, Mundiya, Morey Saiyaan, Kaari Kaari, among other songs, are some of Balouch’s most recent compositions.
