For its US users to spend Valentine’s Day with their loved ones, Disney+ has made preparations. The streamer has announced its plans to offer a Valentine’s Day collection for subscribers in the United States in honour of the holiday honoring loves. The collection will include the movie Rosaline from 20th Century Studios, which will be made briefly accessible for streaming from Friday, February 10 to Wednesday, February 15.

Along with Rosaline, users can access other love stories like Lady and the Tramp and the 1997 musical Cinderella by Rodgers & Hammerstein. Rosaline, starring Kaitlyn Dever as the title character, is based on Rebecca Serle’s novel When You Were Mine and adds a modern, comic spin on Romeo & Juliet, the famous Shakespearian romance. Shakespeare’s original story and Serle’s contemporary retelling, in which Rosaline was the major figure, are combined in Rosaline. Rosaline is portrayed in the story as she tries to separate Romeo and Juliet after learning that Romeo, who briefly dated her, has changed his mind and is now hopelessly in love with Juliet.

There are two common interpretations of the Romeo and Juliet story. Some believe it to be the greatest love story ever recounted, while others believe it to be the tale of two errant loves whose misplaced feelings caused them to commit suicide. And it is clear from the way Rosaline is presented that the authors made an effort to depict both points of view, drawing on both the original Shakespearian story and Serle’s contemporary reinterpretation. Rosaline is a funny, heartwarming film that is ideal for Valentine’s Day celebrations.

Along with Dever, other notable actors include Bradley Whitford, Christopher McDonald, Nico Hiraga, Henry Hunter Hall, Alhaji Fofana, Isabela Merced as Juliet, Kyle Allen as Romeo, Sean Teale as Dario, and Minnie Driver. The screenplay for Rosaline was written by The Fault in Our Stars movie writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, and was directed by Karen Maine (HBO’s Starstruck). Producers Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen, and Den Levine are joined by executive producers Whitney Brown, Emily Morris, Becca Edelman, Dever, Neustadter, and Weber.

For the celebration of Valentine’s Day, Rosaline, which had its Hulu premiere on October 14, will be accessible on Disney+ from February 10 to 15 along with other love stories in the streamer’s Valentine’s Day collection.
