Liam Neeson’s career has contained more than his fair share of high-octane action thrills.

While the search for the next 007 continues, Liam Neeson has claimed that the job of James Bond was once his to take, but his partner had other plans.

With the success of ‘Schindler’s List,’ in which he played the main role, Neeson’s popularity was high in the early 1990s, and the James Bond people came knocking, according to reports.

Neeson told that he had expressed his strong interest in the role, until his then girlfriend, actress Natasha Richardson, intervened, wary of what Neeson called the “gorgeous girls in various countries getting in and out of (Bond’s) bed”.

According to reports, the actor stated that Richardson had informed him she wouldn’t marry him if he took the part, so he declined, leaving the Licence to Kill open for Pierce Brosnan to acquire. Neeson and Richardson were married in 1994 and had two boys together before the actress died in a skiing accident in 2009.

Liam Neeson’s career has been filled with plenty of high-octane action thrills. His current role as Philip Marlowe in a fresh take on the Los Angeles-based private investigator is his 100th film, and he noted that despite being 70, he still receives action screenplays.

The ‘Taken’ star told, “I’ll call up my agent and say, ‘do they know what age I am?’

“People say I do my own stunts. I do not. But look, the dollar amount is very pleasing. And I’m not getting any younger.”
