Quetta: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) has been confirmed by two more doctors of Civil Hospital Quetta.

According to the spokesman of the health department, Congo virus was confirmed in two more doctors of Civil Hospital, after which the number of doctors suffering from Congo virus has increased to 11.

According to Dr Wasim Baig, a nurse, a paramedic and a pharmacist at Civil Hospital are also suffering from Congo virus.

It should be noted that a health emergency has been implemented in Balochistan given increasing cases of the Congo virus.

Under the chairmanship of Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan Ali Mardan Domki, it has been reported that 44 cases of Congo virus have been reported in Balochistan so far, given which a health emergency has been implemented in the province.

On the  other hand, Young Doctors Association (YDA) spokesperson Dr Arif has said that the number of Congo virus patients shifted to Karachi for treatment has reached to nine.

He said total 16 positive cases of Congo virus have surfaced till now and two more patients will be transferred to Karachi.He complained that the government not tackling the matter seriously.

Balochistan government on Sunday issued red alert over alarming situation of Congo virus fever in province that has claimed 16 lives.
