ISLAMABAD: The preparations of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the general elections in the country have entered the final stages.

The ECP has delegated the powers of Magistrates to District Returning Officers(DROs) and Returning Officers(ROs) for general elections.

The Election Commission has also issued a notification on giving powers to DROs and ROs.

Earlier,  the Ministry of Interior issued a notification for the deployment of the Army, Civil Armed Forces during the general elections.

According to the notification, Army and Civil Armed Forces will be deployed as Quick Response Force for security, this deployment will be from  February 5 to 12 2024.

Besides, the Election Commission has issued the code of conduct for the elections of Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces.

According to the code of conduct, the police will be the first and the civil armed forces and the Pakistan Army will be responsible for the secondary and intermediate level, the Pakistan Army will be outside the most sensitive polling stations only.

Earlier,  Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has designed the final polling scheme for the general elections scheduled on February 8.

The ECP has completed 75% of the work for the general elections and according to the polling scheme, 92,353 polling stations will be established across the country for the election.
