ECP rejects pleas challenging results of 3 Karachi NA constituencies

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected applications against the results of three National Assembly constituencies in Karachi.

The ECP has directed the petitioners to approach the Election Tribunal against the results of the three constituencies.

The applications of candidate Zahoor Uddin from NA-237 Karachi, Muhammad Yasir from NA-239 and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI)  candidate Khurram Sher Zaman from NA-241 have been rejected.

It should be noted that PPP candidates were successful in these three seats of the National Assembly.

Earlier, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has yet to resolve the allocation of reserved seats for the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) in both the national and provincial assemblies.

On Tuesday, the ECP is set to hear four petitions regarding this issue, with a notice already issued to the SIC for the hearing.

As anticipation builds regarding the ECP’s decision on the remaining reserved seats, the commission has announced that a five-member bench will hold an open hearing on the matter tomorrow.

Notices have been sent to several individuals, including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Mahmood Khan, Maulvi Iqbal Haider, and Kunz-us-Saadat.
