Food delivery rider shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI: A food delivery rider was killed in firing incident in Gulshan e Iqbal area of Karachi on Thursday.

According to rescue sources, the incident of firing on University Road took place in Gulshan Iqbal Block 4A within the limits of the Mubina Town Police Station.

Superintendent of Police (SP)  Farhat Kamal said that the slain food panda rider was shot once and no belongings were taken from the slain rider and he was identified as Muhammad Waqas Hanif.

A meeting was held in the city under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, in which Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab participated through video link.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah imposed a rain emergency in the province and put all the local bodies, administrations and hospitals on high alert, while it has also been decided to do half-day duty in public and private institutions in Karachi tomorrow.
