ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party(PPP) has lodged complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner against internet and mobile phone network service across the country on the general elections day.

In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, PPP leader Taj Haider said that the Pakistan People’s Party is concerned about the recent unannounced disruptions in internet and mobile network connectivity across Pakistan, which is adversely affecting the general elections in the country.

The voters are unable to access their polling station information or coordinate logistics to access polling stations due to widespread disruption.

The letter further stated that the shutdown of network services has created problems for voters, candidates and election staff while mobile network disruption will also affect voter turnout.

The mobile network for election day is important and PPP urged the ECP to take immediate action to restore mobile network and internet connectivity to ensure free and fair elections.
