The recently established federal government in Islamabad is prepared to adjust petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan for the latter half of March 2024.

Reports suggest that the government is expected to announce new petroleum prices on the night of March 15. There are indications that the petrol price may decrease by Rs5 to reach Rs274.61 per liter, while the diesel price could drop by Rs4.81 to Rs283.12. These revised prices are anticipated to be implemented starting on March 16, 2024.

The anticipated reduction in petroleum prices is attributed to the downward trend in the international market, notably seen in Brent crude futures, which declined by 0.4% to $81.82 per barrel.

Current Petrol Prices in Pakistan

Currently, the per-liter petrol price is at Rs 279.62, while the high-speed diesel price stands at Rs 287.33.
