Federal Govt reconstitutes ECL committee of cabinet

ISLAMABAD: The federal government reconstituted the Exit Control List (ECL) committee of the cabinet.

It has been decided not to give the headship of the ECL committee to any federal minister.

The Prime Minister  Shehbaz Sharif will head the ECL Committee of the Cabinet himself, while the Ministry of Interior will provide secretarial support to the committee. The Interior Minister was not included in the ECL Committee.

The Cabinet Division has also issued a notification for the reconstitution of the 4-member ECL Committee.

According to the notification, the ECL committee will also include the Minister of Law, Minister of Industries and Production and Minister of Human Resources.

In the absence of the Prime Minister, the Law Minister will head the committee.

The ECL cases will be examined in ECL sub-committee.

The Federal Cabinet approved through summary circulation of the Ministry of Interior Affairs and 24 names were approved to be placed in the ECL.

The Federal Cabinet has given its approval in light of the recommendations of the Sub-Committee on ECL.
