Governor expresses concern over surge in street crimes in Karachi

KARACHI: Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori has expressed concern over the increase in street crimes in Karachi.

Governor Sindh said that the day before yesterday “I made a statement against street crime, the reply was that you should keep your work, Interior Minister Sindh made a statement that where there is business, there will be crime, but this is not the case in the world”.

The Sindh Governor said that he has written a letter to the Sindh Chief Minister requesting him to take notice of increasing incidents of street crimes in Karachi. He further said dacoit groups are also getting stronger Kacha area of interior Sindh.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also said that the principles of Madinah State have been implemented in the Governor House and now he is arranging an IT university for 50,000 students.

Earlier, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in a crackdown on drug supply in educational institutions of twin cities, seized 2.4 kg hashish from an accused who was a student of BS Computer Science in a local university.

The accused was arrested with drugs near Waheedabad Colony on Lahtrar Road. During investigation, the accused confessed to supplying drugs in different hostels.
