Power sector reforms to be implemented after approval: Leghari

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Pakistan Business Council called on Minister for Power Division Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari.

Challenges confronted to Industrial sectors of the country came under discussion during the meeting.

During the meeting, the delegation highlighted issues affecting the industries and presented recommendations to improve the power sector.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the recommendations presented by the Pakistan Business Council have already been included in the ongoing reform agenda of the power sector.

He said the power sector reforms would be implemented with a clear timeline after approval from the Prime Minister.

The reforms would promote favorable environment for industrial growth in Pakistan.

Earlier,  Pakistan and Iran decided in principle to ban terrorist organizations in their respective countries.

The decision to the effect was taken in a meeting between Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi, and his Iranian counterpart Dr Ahmad Vahidi and Law Minister Amin Hussain Rahimi.

The two sides agreed on a joint plan of action to deal with the menace of terrorism being a common problem, with further improving mutual support and exchange of intelligence information. It was decided to sign a security agreement in that regard at the earliest.
