As the mercury climbs in Punjab, with Lahore already experiencing temperatures of 33 degrees Celsius and further increases predicted, the safety of students has become a top priority. To shield them from the scorching heat and potential health risks like heatstroke and dehydration, all public and private schools across the province are set to close for more than two months as part of the annual Summer Vacations.

Weather forecasts indicate that the temperature is likely to soar to 39°C in May 2024 and surpass 40°C in June 2024, highlighting the urgency of this measure to safeguard students’ well-being. The decision to extend the break is grounded in concerns for students’ health and safety during the sweltering summer months.
