ATC approves 9-days physical remand of SM Qureshi in 8 cases

LAHORE: The anti-terrorism court(ATC) approved physical remand of Pakistan Tehreeek e Insaf (PTI)  leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi for 9 days in 8 cases of May 9.

Judge Khalid Arshad of the anti-terrorism court in Lahore pronounced reserve verdict in which the court ordered that the investigation report on Shah Mehmood Qureshi be submitted on June 5.

The court decision has said that Shah Mehmood Qureshi should be interrogated through video link.

The judgment further states that according to the investigating officer, the accused released videos and messages on social media.All the material uploaded by the accused on social media has been sent to the forensic lab.

Earlier, Pakistan Lahore Police arrested Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Adiala Jail in 8 cases of May 9.

Lahore Police arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Adiala Jail in 8 cases on May 9.

According to the police, a special team of Lahore Police reached Adiala Jail Rawalpindi to arrest Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The investigation team sought permission from the court to transfer the accused Shah Mahmood Qureshi to Lahore, but the court refused to transfer Shah Mahmood Qureshi to Lahore due to security concerns.

According to Lahore Police, on the request of the investigation team, the court approved the three-day physical remand of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The investigation team recorded the statement of Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Adiala Jail, Shah Mehmood Qureshi will appear in the Anti-Terrorism Court through video link.
