The administration in Islamabad has announced a substantial increase in fees for learner permits, driving licenses across different categories, and license renewals.

This change follows months after the Punjab government revised the fee structure for driving licenses.

A notification from the office of the chief commissioner stated that the new fees for driving licenses will take effect immediately.

Revised Fee Structure of New Driving Licence in Islamabad, May 2024

The Islamabad administration has increased the fee for a learner driving permit with six months’ validity from Rs 349 to Rs 1,000.

The fee for obtaining a motorcycle and motor car driving license (non-professional) has risen from Rs 1,800 to Rs 3,000.

The fees for professional licenses (LTV and HTV) have surged from Rs 2,100 to Rs 10,000.

The cost of a digital driving license card has been raised to Rs2,000. Here is the complete fee structure for new driving licenses in Islamabad:

Fee of Renewal of Driving Licence from May 2024

The renewal fee for a driving license within 30 days is set at Rs2,000, while it increases to Rs3,500 if renewed after thirty days but within one year of the license’s expiry date.

The renewal fee for a driving license within three years of expiry has been set at Rs3,000.
