LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) acquitted a suspect in a rape case and annulled a 14-year sentence by giving benefit of the doubt.

Lahore High Court Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq issued an 8-page written decision to release accused Amjad Ali.

The court acquitted the accused giving the benefit of the doubt and wrote in the verdict that the FIR of the incident was registered after 5 days.

The victim did not tell anyone about the incident for 3 days and not report the incident to the police. The filing of a case late raises suspicions.

The Lahore High Court wrote in the judgment that according to the lady doctor, no sample was found from the body of the victim, and contradictions were found in the statements of the witnesses.
