Monsoon Season in Pakistan 2024 to Provide Relief from Heatwave!
The forecast for Pakistan’s upcoming monsoon season from June to August is promising, with most regions expected to receive normal to above-normal rainfall.
The Meteorological Department predicts above-normal rainfall for central and northern Punjab. Southern Sindh is also expected to receive more rain than usual, providing relief to these areas.
Balochistan is forecasted to receive slightly more rainfall than usual, which will boost agriculture. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit Baltistan are expected to have normal rainfall, ensuring stable conditions in these regions.
The Meteorological Department notes that the initial phase of the monsoon will likely bring heavier rainfall compared to the later phase. This pattern is crucial for managing water resources and planning agriculture.
Warmer temperatures will speed up the melting of snow in KP, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan. Consequently, these areas will have higher temperatures than usual at the start of June, affecting river flows and water availability.
Expecting above-normal rainfall in numerous areas, this monsoon season holds promise for agriculture and water resources. Stay updated with local weather reports for the most accurate information.
