The Punjab Motorcycle Scheme 2024, an initiative aimed at providing accessible transportation solutions to students, has garnered significant attention since its inception. Administered by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), this scheme offers 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 e-bikes through interest-free installments, supported by a substantial Rs1 billion subsidy.

The registration phase for the Punjab motorcycle scheme concluded on May 1, 2024, marking a crucial milestone in the Chief Minister Youth Initiative. Eligible students from degree colleges and universities across Punjab have eagerly applied, eager to benefit from this program designed to alleviate transportation challenges.

With Phase 1 distribution plans underway, cities like Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Lahore are set to witness the rollout of these bikes. The overwhelming response to the scheme is evident, with a staggering 72,640 applications received. Among these, 57,366 applicants have expressed a preference for petrol motorcycles, while 15,274 have shown interest in e-bikes.

As the distribution process progresses, all eyes are on the upcoming balloting schedule, tentatively set for May 2024. Conducted electronically by PITB, the balloting process will determine the lucky recipients of these coveted bikes. This transparent and fair allocation process ensures that deserving students have equal opportunities to avail themselves of this beneficial scheme.
