Friday brought a welcome relief to the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi as rain and hail showered down, breaking the oppressive heatwave that had gripped the twin cities. While Islamabad remained cloaked in clouds, the downpour brought a sense of coolness to the air, much to the delight of the locals.

The pleasant weather wasn’t confined to the capital alone. In Attock and various other areas across Punjab, rain coupled with gusts of wind provided respite from the scorching heat. Similarly, in the Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the temperature dropped significantly following the rainfall, bringing relief to the residents.

According to the Meteorological Department, this rainfall is expected to persist until Saturday. Additionally, a rain-producing system is predicted to enter Balochistan on Friday, raising hopes for rain in nine districts of the province.

The forecast for May 10 and 11 indicates moderate weather conditions due to the ongoing rain. However, Lahore continues to endure severe weather, with temperatures expected to soar between 26 and 41 degrees Celsius. Despite this, there is a possibility of light rain in Lahore on Sunday, according to the forecast.
