The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) issues Emirates ID cards to both UAE citizens and expatriates, including individuals from India.

Having an Emirates ID is mandatory for all UAE citizens and residents, who must apply for and carry it at all times. Possession of the Emirates ID enables individuals to access government and other essential services.

When to Apply for Renewal of Emirates ID Card

Individuals have a 30-day window from the date of expiry to renew an expired ID card, after which late fines will be imposed.

To renew their ID card, people can utilize the online renewal service available on the ICP website, or through the ICP App, accessible on Google Play, the App Store, and Huawei’s platform, or by visiting an accredited typing center.
