Extreme Heat: 25 peacocks die in Tharparkar

KARACHI: Like most other cities of the country, Tharparkar district of Sindh province is also affected by a severe heat wave due to which 25 peacocks died in Tharparkar.

Deputy Conservator of Wildlife Department Mir Aijaz Talpur, 25 peacocks have died in Tharparkar due to extreme heat.

Mir Aijaz Talpur said that out of 21 peacocks brought to Mithi Poultry Center, only 10 have been rescued, however, teams are being sent to the affected areas.

On the other hand, regarding the death of peacocks, the residents of the area have demanded that dozens of sick peacocks die and camps should be established at the village level for treatment.

On the other hand, according to the Secretary Information Dairy Farmers Association, many animals have died in Bhains Colony (Cattle Colony ) due to heat, and many have been affected by heat.

He said that given the heat, there is a possibility of further increase in the death of animals while Vitamin C and Glucose are given to the cattle to protect them from the heat.
