The government in Islamabad has suggested implementing a standard 18% sales tax on mobile phones priced below $500 (Rs139,008 as of June 19, 2024). If this proposal goes through, it could increase the prices of mobile phones from different companies, including Infinix.

The suggestion was put forward in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2024–25, which Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presented on June 12.

Starting on July 1, 2024, Pakistan may implement a new tax rate for mid-range mobile phones if the proposals are approved.

As per the Finance Bill 2024, the government plans to introduce a standard 18% sales tax on all phones priced below $500
