During a meeting focusing on Karachi’s public transport challenges, Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced new routes for the People’s Bus Service.

The meeting, with Karachi’s elected MPAs, deputy mayor, and officials in attendance, agreed to extend the bus service routes in Malir, Kemari, Lyari, and District West.

Sharjeel Memon emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing public transport for the benefit of Karachi residents.

During a prior meeting, the transport department presented a comprehensive update on the advancement of several projects, such as the development of bus rapid transit (BRT) systems, traffic signals, and the renovation of bus terminals.

The meeting also covered plans for implementing a U-turn for the People’s Bus Service. Additionally, there are plans to construct a new parking plaza in central Hyderabad to ease traffic congestion.

The transport minister was also briefed on the progress of constructing eight bus terminals, scheduled to be operational by June.
